Its been 14 months. OOPs.<br />
<br />
Back in July I did an online photography course as I was given a Canon DSLR camera for my 50th birthday and I loved every minute of it. Yes I was very critical and self doubting about my photo's. Still am. but there you go no one is perfect and I'm certainly not.<br />
In two weeks time I'm going to be doing the Advanced course with a few of the girls I did the enthusiasts course with. Toni Laws, Naomi Sherman & Mel Champion are 3 stand outs.<br />
<br />
here are a few of the shots I've taken since doing the course.<br />

<div align="center">
<span style="color: #6fa8dc; font-family: Arial; font-size: large;">Its been six months since my last post.</span></div>
<div align="center">
<span style="color: #6fa8dc; font-family: Arial; font-size: large;"> I was telling the world that I was off to the USA.</span></div>
<div align="center">
<span style="color: #6fa8dc; font-family: Arial; font-size: large;">Well just to let you all know..... I loved it. Loved New York. Loved Las Vegas. the verdict is still out on San Fran. Loved the drive down the coast of California to Anaheim. Would love to have spent some more time in Carmel. <a href="http://hearstcastle.org/" target="_blank">Hearst Castle</a> at San Simeon was unbelievable and we didn't really get to see Santa Monica. Totally adored Disneyland and had fun at Universal Studios. And who could not love Waikiki?</span></div>
<div align="center">
<span style="color: #6fa8dc; font-family: Arial; font-size: large;"><a href="http://www.newyork.com/" target="_blank">New York</a> is definitely on our re-visit list. We heard so many people say New York is great blah blah blah and thought Yeah yeah whatever. But OMG ITS AMAZING. We stayed at <a href="http://beaconhotel.com/" target="_blank">The Beacon Hotel</a> and loved the accommodation and the staff. Anthony and Ray at the conierge desk were great. <a href="http://www.centralpark.com/guide/attractions.html" target="_blank">Central park</a> in summer is just beautiful. We only got to see half of the park. Didn't even see half of NY. Is just HUGE! I could keep raving about it but I could never ever do it justice.</span></div>
<div align="center">
<span style="color: #6fa8dc; font-family: Arial; font-size: large;">Las Vegas was Hot! we arrived during a heatwave (if there is such a thing in Vegas). We stayed at <a href="http://www.aria.com/#" target="_blank">The Aria</a> hotel. the Casinos are jaw-droppingly amazing. We went to the Grand Canyon with <a href="http://bighornwildwesttours.com/" target="_blank">Big Horn Wild West Tours</a>. Brett was our tour guide and we had a blast with him. A real Chuck Norris look alike and sound alike. Highly recommend this company.</span></div>
<div align="center">
<span style="color: #6fa8dc; font-family: Arial; font-size: large;">Next stop was San Francisco. The Handlery hotel was a big let down after being in the Aria and The Beacon.</span></div>
<div align="center">
<span style="color: #6fa8dc; font-family: Arial; font-size: large;">But we had fun when we did the Safari Tour around San Francisco. We went to Lombard St and climbed to the top and then walked all the way down again. We also caught a <a href="http://www.sfcablecar.com/" target="_blank">trolley/cable car</a> to the Wharf and back with the guys hanging off the side like they do in the movies (no run away cable cars or car chases thank goodness),</span></div>
<div align="center">
<span style="color: #6fa8dc; font-family: Arial; font-size: large;">Well that's it for tonight. I'll fill you in on the rest of the trip another day.</span></div>

Tomorrow is the official first day of my five weeks Long service leave. I was hoping for more but work demands didn't allow it.<br />
But its<span style="color: red;"> FIVE</span> weeks away from work. YAY!!!<br />
I have a full on week this week having nails and hair done and grabbing last minute things and doing housework before we fly out to America. <br />
You could say the holiday starts on Thursday night when we get taken to the airport motel so that we don't have to get up at 2.30am on Friday morning. So instead we only have to get up at <span style="color: red; font-size: large;">3.30am</span>. this gives us an hour to shower, do our hair (well us lady's anyway) and make sure the bags are properly packed before we get taken to the airport (3 minutes away).<br />
We are Super excited as we are going with our best friends and we have been planning this for 18 months.<br />
Laptop is charged, kindle is charged, playbook is charged, iPod's are charged, so there's no excuse to be bored on the plane. <br />
Our first stop is New York (5 nights), then off to Las Vegas (5 nights), a quick flight to San Francisco for 3 nights and then we drive down the coast over 3 nights. Then we hit Anaheim for 4 nights (Disneyland here we come) and the its over to Hawaii for 3 nights of relaxation before heading home and back to reality.<br />
I have a week at home and then its definitely back to reality and work.<br />
<br />
I'm hoping to post pics while i'm away as most places we are staying have free internet access.<br />
<br />
So...<br />
<br />
Start spreading the word,<br />
I'm leaving today (Friday)<br />
I want to be part of it,<br />
New York New York!<br />
<br />
chat later.<br />
<br />

<span style="font-size: large;">Its just been the start of one of those years where time just gets away from you.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Its not like I haven't been doing anything. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">In January I sign up for the Creative Jumpstart summit 2013 which was run by Nathalie Kalbach. So many talented artist's donated their time to do technique videos. I've tried quite a few of the techniques but still have some more to try.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I also started doing Fat Mum Slims photo of the day challenge. Well its not a challenge just lots of fun and its amazing the idea's that people come up with to interpret a word.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I started doing a daily journal . ( I have slackened of a bit this month but try and catch up once a week.)</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">And it was quite stressful at work.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">February was still hectic at work but we finally booked our holiday to the U.S. That has made it more bearable to go to work. I started reading more on the way to work thanks to my great Christmas present from my girls (my Kindle).</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">We spent the Weekend up at Hahndorf, which is a gorgeous little German settled township in the Adelaide Hills, with our great friends (16 of us).</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">March started with ME getting my new lease car. A Holden Captiva 5. I LOVE IT. <br />
I've made a few cards for birthdays and did a couple of digi Lo's<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is the last one I did based on a sketch challenge on Jellybeanscrappers.com</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
and at last April.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The kids & I started watching the 3rd season of Game of Thrones and I started doing Zentangling. Its quite relaxing just doodling patterns in no set order and really quite effective. So I do that while we watch TV. and that is it all caught up.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<span style="color: magenta; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: x-large;">WOW!!! Its 2013!!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Hopefully it will be a LUCKY year this year.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">We are finally back in order after our little episode with the indoor paddling pool last year.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">We have brand new plush carpet in all the rooms that were affected. I love coming home after work taking my shoes off and walking into my bedroom and squishing my toes in the pile. (I'm even doing it now while I type in my craft room). There's nothing like giving your feet a bit of pleasure after a long day at work and cooped up in shoes (I have to wear enclosed shoes at work).</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">I think this year I'm going to try and do more things that will de-stress me after work. so there is going to be toe/carpet squishing, foot spa's, I may even luxuriate in a bath or two instead of having a shower. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">This month i have started doing a photo of the day challenge. the site I'm doing it with is </span><a href="http://fatmumslim.com/"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">fatmumslim.com</span></a><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">. So far I have done each and everyone. I know 5 days doesn't sound like a big effort but for me that is a record! LOL. (my kids tell me I have a short attention span when we are talking (oops) ). I have also been keeping a journal. The longest I have been able to keep up one of these is 8 months. lets see if I can finish 2013.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">We have a few weekend getaways planned and a big holiday later in the year. Either to the US (if our friends can make it) or the UK (if they can't). </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Well I think I have bored you enough.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">WISHING YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY AND SAFE NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!</span></div>
<div align="center">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div align="center">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"></span></div>

Well its been a month since our house suffered water damage and we are still in a state of disrepair. Not for much longer (says she with her fingers crossed). We have picked the carpets and we should get a phone call anytime soon. We just have to empty our built in robes so they can be taken out before the carpets are put in. We are also having new carpet put in our bedroom as well. So we are going to have to move stuff out of 5 rooms so that they can lay the carpet on the same day. We have gone for Stainmaster IQ twist (something like that). They tested it in the New York zoo for 3 weeks and then gave it a clean and it came up as good as new. If the elephants and rhinos can do their worse on it and it survives that then it will survive just the two of us living on it. (plus future grandkids. hahaha )<br />
<br />
Our Scrap hostess with the mostess Toni over at <a href="http://jellybeanscrappers.com/">Jellybeanscrappers.com</a> allowed me to set a couple of challenges this month. The first was a monthly challenge which was inspired by the Graphic45 team.<br />
I was emailed a newsletter with instructions for a post-it note holder. I had made one of these a few years back and thought it a great idea.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Then Toni was kind enough to allow me to set another challenge. This time it was for the halloween Cyber Crop night. For this challenge I made some Halloween Tags.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkUmt4QAFNnfMvz4FzlubuNa4qMHxwydkqoDcNvtiKre-dnvepaC9SrsDTWWN74RJjyKm6oH-9Ugsp_apFncx3BSzgY1c26z25dFKiesZcrhpOJBvXDt6RDpzGfJsprEoiXDRB4EPkPzA/s1600/scary+cat.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkUmt4QAFNnfMvz4FzlubuNa4qMHxwydkqoDcNvtiKre-dnvepaC9SrsDTWWN74RJjyKm6oH-9Ugsp_apFncx3BSzgY1c26z25dFKiesZcrhpOJBvXDt6RDpzGfJsprEoiXDRB4EPkPzA/s320/scary+cat.jpg" width="185" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxe0kqbu7n5K2Ktvl51pTdCJvyLAm1kt4xlyIzTw1io3iD7wXTQ2mhgaqWosFmpLvdRopzcDgTggF-yBzDgxMdOzszuwW3AjeJBVO2hlY6t1_veZjWWBMq8Iszsd5RExqLg2sttCcbb8c/s1600/Haunted+house.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxe0kqbu7n5K2Ktvl51pTdCJvyLAm1kt4xlyIzTw1io3iD7wXTQ2mhgaqWosFmpLvdRopzcDgTggF-yBzDgxMdOzszuwW3AjeJBVO2hlY6t1_veZjWWBMq8Iszsd5RExqLg2sttCcbb8c/s320/Haunted+house.jpg" width="197" /></a></div>
<div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
For the first tag I just did some T!m Holtz techniques for the background (blending and water splattering). I used the rickety fence die and the branch from (oops I can't remember and my dies are all outside). And the second one I used the haunted house die, embossed the fence, white washed the house using the distress markers inked the edges with black soot and used graphic45 happy haunting cut-outs (the moon and witch) then popped on some googly eyes, a few spritzed flowers and ribbon and hey presto. my tags. If I had my scrap room in order I would be able to tell you all the names of the dies and embossing folders. so my apologies to T!m Holtz. lol<br />
<br />
Tomorrow (maybe) I will show you what else I have made but for now I am going to relax before hubby gets home from work.<br />
<br />
ciao for now.<br />

Kids!)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia;">Well what has happened in 5 months?? A lot but not a Lot. If that makes sense.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia;">I had my birthday in June.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia;">I think the most important event is that our eldest daughter purchased her own home and moved into it in July.</span><br />

Her Dad has painted most of the rooms and occasionally phones her to say "is it alright if I go around to your place and do this or that". So its all coming together for her. She just had her new lounge suite delivered yesterday. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia;">I also started a new position at work, Quality control. Its not really hard work but it takes time and can be mentally exhausting. I am enjoying it.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia;">September was fairly quiet. We celebrated my Mums birthday, and this was the card I made for her.and as every good mother does.... it goes in her display cabinet. lol.</span><br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
October is a completely different month as it started on a good note, well the first two days. On the Monday night we went out for tea to celebrate my nephews birthday and then on the 2nd hubby and i <br />
packed up and headed off to Mildura ( a 4.5hr drive) for 4 days of rest and relaxation. That idea went out the window 6pm that night when we received a phone call from our youngest daughter to say she had gone to pick something up (an apple pie we had left in the fridge) and found the inside of the house under water. Gary told what she had to do regarding turning the water off, which our little hero did despite the mains tap being in bug infested bushes. A few phone calls later we had 2 daughters, 1 father, 1 future son-in-law and our 2 best friends at our house sucking up water and moving furniture up out of the water. 2 bedrooms, the lounge, study and kitchen ended up being effected. But if it wasn't for all their help things would have been so much worse so we are so grateful to have these people in our lives. Now the house is dried out and its the waiting game to get things replaced or repaired. The insurance company have been great so far.<br />
I am so glad I raised daughters who love their food. lol. <br />
<br />
Well that's my life blogged to date. At the moment I am trying to make my Secret Santa gift and if I don't stop surfing the net and procrastinating it's never going to get done.<br />

What have i been doing for the last couple of weeks? Hmmmm???<br />
I have been knitting scarves. I have used Moda Vera's Honeycomb mesh and it only takes one ball to make this gorgeous scarf. Here is the pattern and a pic of a pink one <a href="http://promotions.spotlight.com.au/projects/yarn/scarves-hats/E13_12_HONEYCOMB_MESH_SCARF_PS.pdf">http://promotions.spotlight.com.au/projects/yarn/scarves-hats/E13_12_HONEYCOMB_MESH_SCARF_PS.pdf</a><br />

this lesson was all about the distress markers.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiheC8wjrrRrW8HZusEROXWHwOymqA0J7QoEUI6_Iiv4QV0JikKyw8PMgPc80VPuePzbYrzObnLZAlUiCQvQ0TrRrsrW84ZyZIug31N0i1jG53zk2Ajqf37lHnDcNI9YvQGdOIRoU47ktc/s1600/CC101+lesson+6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiheC8wjrrRrW8HZusEROXWHwOymqA0J7QoEUI6_Iiv4QV0JikKyw8PMgPc80VPuePzbYrzObnLZAlUiCQvQ0TrRrsrW84ZyZIug31N0i1jG53zk2Ajqf37lHnDcNI9YvQGdOIRoU47ktc/s1600/CC101+lesson+6.jpg" /></a></div>the first tag (again the middle) <br />
Watercolour with markers technique<br />
for this one we coloured with the markers on dry and wet paper.<br />
<br />
the second tag ( on the left)<br />
we coloured by blending the markers on the craft sheet and lifting colours up with the lighter marker and then colouring the butterflies<br />
<br />
the third tag (on the right)<br />
This time we had to colour the stamp direct with the marker and then stamp the paper. (it was supposed to be specialty paper but i didn't have any so i used the back of the glossy paper). then inked it with the blending tool and flicked it with water.<br />
<br />
So that is it for tonight.<br />
<br />

<br />
This lesson was all about distress stains. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdAVWSZoT4KBwAVRfdJGt_NVq4atpMMiPUczOvrtadpNVAkpk9wexhEqDgn2GsWJ_hFGwiEV1iGH1hfcgD4Fc8pK2UxRot3NsBTGOUYvGbR8DCM-nGYdkzdjZiPqZdy02byYLTUAVK3VE/s1600/CC101+lesson5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdAVWSZoT4KBwAVRfdJGt_NVq4atpMMiPUczOvrtadpNVAkpk9wexhEqDgn2GsWJ_hFGwiEV1iGH1hfcgD4Fc8pK2UxRot3NsBTGOUYvGbR8DCM-nGYdkzdjZiPqZdy02byYLTUAVK3VE/s320/CC101+lesson5.jpg" width="254" /></a></div><br />
the first tag (in the middle) is<br />
<div align="center"></div><div style="text-align: center;"><em><span style="color: #8e7cc3;">Stained Kraft Resist Techinque</span></em></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: black;">I didn't have any of Tims kraft resist paper but had something similar so i followed the instuctions and again i have used Kaisers stamps <em>Le Chateau</em> and <em>Tigerlily</em>.</span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: black;">Tag 2 (on the right</span>)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><em><span style="color: #8e7cc3;">Stamping with stains technique</span></em></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: black;">for this tag we stamped with Picket fence stain as well as using the stains for the basckgrounds. This was my second attempt for the back ground as i used to much Fired brick on the first one and yuck!! Iused Kaisers <em>Tigerlily butterfly</em> stamps on this one.</span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">And the third tag for the lesson (on the left)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><em><span style="color: #8e7cc3;">Marbled stains technique</span></em></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Not completely happy with this one either as this was third attempt. the first one looked like mud and then the second one was all red although i used tumbled glass and shabby shutters on it. Conclusion Don't use red or very little of it. Again i have used Kasier stamp this time <em>Decorative Lamp</em>.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Half way through so i had better get a wriggle on and try and do some more. Off to do lesson 6.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: black;">Thanks for taking the time to look, take care. xx</span></div>shazzabeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06007789648080118743noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4399339935908123834.post-29492321536785540142012-03-28T21:14:00.000+10:302012-03-28T21:14:17.791+10:30lesson 4I am 4 days behind but work interrupted and family well what can you do. Although they are big enough and..... well even as adults they still demand attention.<br />
<br />
Sotonight i finally hd a go at two of the tags for lesson 4.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><em><span style="color: #3d85c6;">Watercolouring with re-inkers</span> </em></div>I used Darkroom Doors Essentials 7 collection and as you can see i didn't stay within the lines. hahaha!I only have a few colours in the re-inkersbut i'm happy with the outcome. A few more to add to the colour collection and who knows what can be achieved (even for a non-watercolour artist).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjo4ZhnT_hIPXYgdeBL3zFbc4HODxavR5NssL95LAMWcUx-feZ0doViKPfThcrxCe5krZ1haBCuXAsQFbSql3LR-OwHysW7rP0kr8pXBjHxeDRBFKcNNF7FFYeSi9SNfyWiCoQ85Ew5WX4/s1600/lesson+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjo4ZhnT_hIPXYgdeBL3zFbc4HODxavR5NssL95LAMWcUx-feZ0doViKPfThcrxCe5krZ1haBCuXAsQFbSql3LR-OwHysW7rP0kr8pXBjHxeDRBFKcNNF7FFYeSi9SNfyWiCoQ85Ew5WX4/s320/lesson+4.jpg" width="303" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><em><span style="color: #a64d79;">Layered Misting Technique</span></em></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">For this tag i used spiced Marmalede, spun sugar, peeled paint for the base, My template is "The Crafters Workshops" Mini Harlequin. and i sprayed with faded jeans. I'll play around with the different templates and masks that i have.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">But i couldn't do the custom stamp pad as i didn't have the right supplies and unfortunately i have to reign in my spending for at least another week. :0(</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Any way thats my efforts at a Masters techniques. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Until next time</div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br />

<br />
I was able to do Stamping with reflections (although i didn't have a reflections stamp) and the alcohol ink agates technique. I didn't have any archival inks to stamp on the agates tag so tried a pigment ink. and although it stamped ok its not as stand out as the Archival inks. Also i think i used to much silver metallic alcohol ink. Oh well i'll keep practising on that technique.<br />
I'm quite happy with the stamping with reflections tag.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIYIWIJ4_-kOi1nhKDo-ncFU_Nu3czL0UGrRV74k-pel7RKbxt-5fkae4uulRnJgq8b2Ueo3LPazVu20YLlUKeo7GNhV8XxkaZjXPsl7xHGqBH_RtR4WyVnQq-6EkmnwLjq1AWBx7liac/s1600/lesson+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIYIWIJ4_-kOi1nhKDo-ncFU_Nu3czL0UGrRV74k-pel7RKbxt-5fkae4uulRnJgq8b2Ueo3LPazVu20YLlUKeo7GNhV8XxkaZjXPsl7xHGqBH_RtR4WyVnQq-6EkmnwLjq1AWBx7liac/s320/lesson+3.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>I really need to get some Archival inks to try the resist technique which means i have to make another journey to a craft store. ho hum that is going to be such a chore....... NOT. pay day tomorrow too. YAY.<br />

<br />
i was talked into ( and it didn't take much convincing believe me) into doing T!M Holtzs Creative Chemistry 101 on-line classes.<br />
had to catch up on lesson 1 but it was a quick and i soon got into lesson two (up-loaded today)<br />
Today T!M showed us three techniques using the distress inks and i have been able to do two of them<br />
Tthis one: Blended distress/spritz and flick<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzdrNVNQK1z3Zc-2aaV4IUQ0wRpOcqxmuya5axSjW2V6S7Ad1zUfckXz6K8reEynW80FaJf8DXt2qM6e2Vm4eADaZKvbwRh1QSArqwDEkjKM3BwlMBylxgl9pL5DaNKvG1pohWUgsJOe0/s1600/Distress,+sprtiz+&+flick.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzdrNVNQK1z3Zc-2aaV4IUQ0wRpOcqxmuya5axSjW2V6S7Ad1zUfckXz6K8reEynW80FaJf8DXt2qM6e2Vm4eADaZKvbwRh1QSArqwDEkjKM3BwlMBylxgl9pL5DaNKvG1pohWUgsJOe0/s320/Distress,+sprtiz+&+flick.jpg" width="189" /></a></div>And this one: Wrinkle free Distress technique.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpACBnubexcJH1yqCgY-6Nzkia-IDopwM5Cw4UCva6sD6A-VCYKDan2vdTbyvz1LbMWi4yWQWdtEzGfrYD-8Mi6JqkhEZedyKTDn8jAteM1QeDugyMkaNR_KRHH7Q91OIprIPJuynWavw/s1600/wrinkle-free+distress+technique.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpACBnubexcJH1yqCgY-6Nzkia-IDopwM5Cw4UCva6sD6A-VCYKDan2vdTbyvz1LbMWi4yWQWdtEzGfrYD-8Mi6JqkhEZedyKTDn8jAteM1QeDugyMkaNR_KRHH7Q91OIprIPJuynWavw/s320/wrinkle-free+distress+technique.jpg" width="186" /></a></div><br />
Can't tell you how to do them because that wouldn't be fair on T!m but i do urge you to quickly sign up and learn from the master.<br />
<br />
The third one will have to wait until tomorrow as i have to go buy some supplies. Oh what a shame. bahahahahaha.<br />
<br />
Thanks for taking the time to look, take care. xxshazzabeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06007789648080118743noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4399339935908123834.post-2587055372484701472012-02-25T20:16:00.000+10:302012-02-25T20:16:34.707+10:30sunset<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Don't faint from shock but yes i'm posting AGAIN. Twice in two days.</span> <br />
I just went outside IN the heat to but some recycling in the bin and saw that the sky was changing colour (I know it ususally does at sunset)so i took this pic.. <br />
Nothing spectacular but i loved how the setting sun changed the colour of the tree.<br />

Better late than never!<br />
<br />
I set my self a challenge to be more organised this year and so far i have failed miserably and we are only three weeks into the new year. hehehehehe!<br />
Oh well. Such is life.<br />
I am using an App on my new phone, Out of Milk, and it is great. It has a To do list and a shopping list as well as a Pantry list (which i don't use) but the other two i do. I put everyone's name that i had to buy presents for and what i was going to get them into the To Do list and stuck to it (all bar one which i couldn't get).<br />
I am finally in my new scrap room (although not totally organized, YET!). Hubby bought me a new desk for Christmas and i have a new book shelf and hubby has put shelves up in the robe for me. I'm almost there and I'm LOVING it so far.<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">We had to use the last mini challenge doll on the Lo and it had to have an architectural element</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I also used my very first mini challenge (we had to use all the mini challenges at some point in the challenge) I Also made up the frame around the photo in photo shop and printed it out to use on the LO.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I was really happy how this turned out.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

<br />
this one below is Week 6's challenge. We set sail from China to San Fransisco and had to choose between boat 1(single Lo) and boat 2 (double Lo). we didn't know about the single and double LO until we sailed.<br />
I obviously picked boat 1and the criteria was we had to use layering as our technique. we also had to use a huge (cover 3/4 of the page) photo, journal block, banner, at least four layers, decorative edge, our stamp and products or inspriation to do with T!m Holtz.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgas0A79xYWhfT2ZME02-bGAnvSral99KevklnXKdooUEyPvWk-f2sGbDx_HR1sTt8Gn11rZYyoAyn460nqrC6IbiTj1FuduXEbIeRS4-oPjimdZIBIhBXMnGLXzBlGspri_CXCVpO8tPk/s1600/Olinda.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="305" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgas0A79xYWhfT2ZME02-bGAnvSral99KevklnXKdooUEyPvWk-f2sGbDx_HR1sTt8Gn11rZYyoAyn460nqrC6IbiTj1FuduXEbIeRS4-oPjimdZIBIhBXMnGLXzBlGspri_CXCVpO8tPk/s320/Olinda.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>the pictures were taken up in the beautiful rhododendron gardensin Olinda in the Dandenong ranges in Victoria, Australia. as we has San Fransico as our inspiration i went with the bridges. and i loved the pic of my sister & brother-in-law kissing in front of the bridge so i used that too.<br />
<br />
We also had a mini challenge in week 5 which was to make a cluster using game pieces and again our stamp.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFeLTJzNmwiLLZtpY7tUTrp867RQZpLHcCJHlSI5_S_9qWYlpIvhSR17Z3-RmfY9dBDK9uceemXD9NqUhIdrArqEYC6egFXt4qcxpr79QXp_v9zgJL0UA_91VFR8Ck1yOG8xDW7fVZHJE/s1600/Tough+guys.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="317" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFeLTJzNmwiLLZtpY7tUTrp867RQZpLHcCJHlSI5_S_9qWYlpIvhSR17Z3-RmfY9dBDK9uceemXD9NqUhIdrArqEYC6egFXt4qcxpr79QXp_v9zgJL0UA_91VFR8Ck1yOG8xDW7fVZHJE/s320/Tough+guys.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>this is Week 7's challenge. Nevada was the destination and our criteria was paper-rolling and cutwork. we also had to use bling, our mini challenge cluster from week 5, another cluster, 2 word title, 3 photo's, 4 PP, 5 lines of journalling and 6 circles.<br />
<br />
<br />
and this was the out-come of my interpretation.<br />
<br />
<br />
We have just done another mini challenge which was to make a paper doll. I think the concensus of mine was a little bit him and a little bit her.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbWFMKZ9IusTTEy0mFl4k03_DYaq5dZM739mLdDK0ZsREyWfTkmSuorT0KpDN2xGXrYoQ9cPTpsoj8XINSIbNiHOspInhnVXe_PzD4t4buGgFYZ4ADtqZxbFlkacXbiywDx-dGhFgMwtA/s1600/paper+doll+mini+challenge.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbWFMKZ9IusTTEy0mFl4k03_DYaq5dZM739mLdDK0ZsREyWfTkmSuorT0KpDN2xGXrYoQ9cPTpsoj8XINSIbNiHOspInhnVXe_PzD4t4buGgFYZ4ADtqZxbFlkacXbiywDx-dGhFgMwtA/s320/paper+doll+mini+challenge.jpg" width="175" /></a></div><br />
<br />
in another two days our last destination on our 80 day journey will be announced. It has been so much fun it will be sad to see it end.<br />
<br />
keep yuou eyes open for the next installment. <br />
<br />

I only managed to get two done...The Blind Scrap challenge<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYcacoo6uzIsiMLt56z31iVUm7bvYSgP8VjgmdMpDMwRZmpydRGRT-Ul68qWdgOr7hkxlNrpTpGmA0jeT_pmRzazq2n6wgEbHHBHhLUHHHif9UDcg23Ye-ur28nwL957SamAqXkl__QDU/s1600/Wish+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYcacoo6uzIsiMLt56z31iVUm7bvYSgP8VjgmdMpDMwRZmpydRGRT-Ul68qWdgOr7hkxlNrpTpGmA0jeT_pmRzazq2n6wgEbHHBHhLUHHHif9UDcg23Ye-ur28nwL957SamAqXkl__QDU/s320/Wish+2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>I did mine as a DIGI using Papers and elements from Scrap Girls Aoomba, Momento, Mulberry, Jubilant & being with you kits and also Raspberry Road Sassy lass word art and Arminas Priceless Moments. The Pic is of my daughter and her partner at her 21st birthday (3 years ago).<br />
<br />
I can't believe they are getting the keys to their home tomorrow. So my little girl is going to be a home owner/buyer. So proud of them both.<br />
<br />
anyway the other challenge was Toni's Big Word (or Alpha challenge). her instructiosn were.....<br />
<br />
<span style="color: #3d85c6; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Right-o, you lot -- my challenge is for you to scrap a word (or a letter) for your home. It can be Christmas themed -- or not. It can be MDF or chippie or you can glue a bunch of sticks together, it doesn't matter. Just get decorating!!</span><br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="color: #3d85c6; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"><span style="color: black;">So this is what i came up with</span></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiygvh8Frh_vY_TrsWnz-RgiONc7F2rJIVHQ4N7QTx8PVqxVXrHdnM3sOZBGVZ8eo4FCvnrnSAI_454Fn_DfCH0O-JLXjroUbrOndzn4jn85NkHMQ4qWRI74rKsU7S7gLERn8BUxSIbzpA/s1600/Toni%2527s+challenge.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiygvh8Frh_vY_TrsWnz-RgiONc7F2rJIVHQ4N7QTx8PVqxVXrHdnM3sOZBGVZ8eo4FCvnrnSAI_454Fn_DfCH0O-JLXjroUbrOndzn4jn85NkHMQ4qWRI74rKsU7S7gLERn8BUxSIbzpA/s320/Toni%2527s+challenge.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I made this for Melissa (again) as her first Christmas decoration for her new home. and i'm pretty chuffed how it turned out too.</div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div align="left" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>Thanks for taking the time to look, take care. xxshazzabeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06007789648080118743noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4399339935908123834.post-63113117446785365832011-10-15T13:54:00.000+10:302011-10-15T13:54:22.361+10:30Week 5 - ChinaIts week 5 in the 80 day challenge at <a href="http://www.artisticdocument.com.au/">www.artisticdocument.com.au</a> and this week we are in China.<br />
The Inspiration was the Great Wall of china.<br />
The Technique was Colour blocking <span style="color: magenta;">I've used Kaiser's Lush range and pack your bags range.</span><br />
The Criteria was:<br />

2. must use red - <span style="color: magenta;">The ribbon</span><br />
3. The Stamp (the one we chose at the beginning) - <span style="color: magenta;">I stamped it multiple times on the Top RH corner block</span><br />
4. A landscape photo -<span style="color: magenta;"> this was taken in 2006 in Singapore ( the guy on the left is no longer with us and was a good work friend of my husbands)</span><br />
5. a chinese/oriental element somewhere (coins, charms etc)<br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
I also used the tag that we had to make for one of the mini challenges as we have to use the mini challenges on one of our LO's.<br />
<br />
<br />
Thanks for taking the time to look, take care. xxshazzabeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06007789648080118743noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4399339935908123834.post-70490441665716087852011-10-05T22:05:00.000+10:302011-10-05T22:05:50.089+10:30Week 4 - India<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Hi everyone,</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">this week our 80 day challenge competition </span><a href="http://www.artisticdocument.com/"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">http://www.artisticdocument.com</span></a><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"> saw us in India. Our inspiration - Bright Colours, the Technique we had to use was Doodling (yikes)and the criteria we had to use was 1. black, white or Kraft CS + one PP (which we had to pick before we knew were we were going)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">2. We had to use Tickets</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">3. Bling of some description</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">4. A group photo of 4 or more people</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">and</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">5. our chosen stamp for the comp</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhg1Ojf8qFpFiGyZoNPva-O3yxe-lTCcPqKTSVD5oGqBMxdrbNkiSsktrPHvZumpVMtJE-z76nsY-4QmKbZDMv7JEqRzl3d5Owojk8T04S-X24RiRYxJCCV6_04CVIRaVbZ85OSdgeOJ-c/s1600/grape+friends.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="318" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhg1Ojf8qFpFiGyZoNPva-O3yxe-lTCcPqKTSVD5oGqBMxdrbNkiSsktrPHvZumpVMtJE-z76nsY-4QmKbZDMv7JEqRzl3d5Owojk8T04S-X24RiRYxJCCV6_04CVIRaVbZ85OSdgeOJ-c/s320/grape+friends.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>This was my Lo<br />
so obviously i chose white CS<br />
my PP (Bella! Melrose vintage paperz 'Panache') which I've used for the matting behind the photo which i coloured in, I've also used it for the flower.<br />
tickets - i stamped using Kaisers Admit one stamp from their Pack Your Bags collection<br />
bling - i used kaisers purple bling for the grapes<br />
photo from a weekend away with friends<br />
and my chosen stamp again from Pack Your Bag collection.<br />
and I doodled the vines and leaves. and the title.<br />
I felt a little bit overwhelmed thinking about doing this one but the girls on the DT team gave us ideas on how to start, like if you have an image in your head SKETCH IT which i did and then once i got started away I went and ended up having a blast doodling and colouring (even outside the lines hahaha)<br />
<br />
So know i have another 5 days rest before our next destination (which will also include a mini challenge)<br />
<br />
Thanks for taking the time to look, take care. xxshazzabeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06007789648080118743noreply@blogger.com1
